Nine Days, Nine Hours, Nine Minutes

Until my flight leaving Kansas City is scheduled to leave.  This is exciting and terrifying. At this point, mostly terrifying.

I went shopping again today. I now only have a few items I still need to get. Tonight my grandmother made me a dinner of baked steak (yum!), green beans, potatoes and pickled beets. I’m trying to get in all my favorite meals before I leave. I’m sure the food in Costa Rica will be amazing, but nothing beats home food.

So, the reality is really starting to set in. I have about nine days until I leave the country for almost four months. This will be the longest I’ve been away from home, and I will be leaving all my college friends at school. It’s scary, but immeasurably exciting.
